Where is AdventurFest held?

AdventurFest takes place at the beautiful private Holcomb Valley Ranch in Big Bear, California. Detailed directions and check-in information will be emailed before the event.

Do you need Jeep?

No. All 4x4 vehicle brands are welcome. To participate in the guided trail rides, your vehicle must be equipped with a low-range (4LO) transfer case.

What is included with my registration?

Each vehicle registration includes:

  • Entry for one vehicle

  • Three nights of camping

  • Guided trail rides on Friday and Saturday

  • Access to vendors and activities

  • Saturday night raffle

  • Friday night Happy hour for 21 and over

  • Event swag bag

  • Evening gatherings around the communal fire pit

Are campsites assigned?

No. Campsites are not marked or reserved. We have a large open camping area, so simply choose a spot and make yourself at home while being respectful of your neighbors.

Are RVs allowed?

Yes. RVs are welcome; however, RV spaces are extremely limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

*Please note that RVs enter Holcomb Valley Ranch at the owner's sole risk. AdventurFest and Holcomb Valley Ranch are not responsible for damage, loss, or recovery of any vehicle.

Are restrooms available?

Yes. Both portable restrooms and flushable toilets are available throughout the event.

Is drinking water available?

No. Please bring enough drinking water to keep everyone in your party comfortably hydrated throughout the event. Remember that you'll be at higher elevation, where you'll likely need more water than you would at lower elevations.

Can I have a campfire?

Due to fire restrictions, personal campfires are not permitted. A communal fire pit will be available for everyone to enjoy each evening.

Are generators allowed?

Yes, generators are permitted. Please be courteous of your neighbors and limit use during quiet hours whenever possible.

Can I bring my pet?

Absolutely. Pets are welcome but must remain on a leash at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Are drones allowed?

No. Drones are not permitted anywhere on the property.

What kind of weather should I expect?

October in Big Bear typically offers beautiful fall weather with warm days and chilly nights.

Average temperatures:

  • Daytime: approximately 67°F

  • Nighttime: approximately 39°F

Mountain weather can change quickly, so come prepared.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing:

  • Layers for changing temperatures

  • Warm jacket

  • Sleeping bag rated for cold weather

  • Hat and sunscreen

  • Sunglasses

  • Plenty of drinking water

  • Flashlight or headlamp

  • Camp chairs

  • Recovery gear appropriate for your vehicle

  • Full-size spare tire

  • First aid kit

  • GMRS radio

What is the easiest way to get back into town?

The recommended route is:

Polique Canyon Road (2N09) to Highway 38

This is generally the quickest and easiest route between Holcomb Valley Ranch and Big Bear Lake.

Will there be cell service?

Cell service can be limited depending on your carrier. Do not rely on having consistent service while at the ranch. Take care of important calls, downloads, and directions before arriving.

Is Wi-Fi available?

No. There is no public Wi-Fi available at the event.

Is there trash service?

Please help us keep Holcomb Valley Ranch beautiful by placing all trash in the designated dumpsters or receptacles before leaving. Pack it in. Pack it out.

What kind of vehicle do I need?

A high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle with low range is strongly recommended for guided trail rides. Some trails are more difficult than others, and trail groups will be organized by vehicle capability and experience level.

What happens if my vehicle breaks?

Our trail leaders will assist with basic trail recoveries whenever possible. Participants are responsible for repairs, towing, and recovery costs beyond what can safely be provided during the event.

What time is check-in?

Event check-in times and arrival instructions will be sent to all registered participants before the event. Please arrive during the designated registration hours whenever possible.
